Jorge Honik was born in Buenos Aires in 1940. From a young age he has devoted himself to literature, alternating between narrative and playwriting. After finishing his university studies in Pharmacy, he traveled for ten years throughout the world. This experience influenced an important part of his visual and literary works, and is evident in several of his Super 8 films. Upon his return to Argentina, he settled in the south. Since then, he has taught in the Arts and Exact Sciences, and continues to initiate projects related to film, literature, theater and music. Honik’s dedication as coordinator of film workshops in Ri´o Negro high schools was recognized at the First Young Art Biennial of San Carlos de Bariloche (Argentina) in 1993, where a work that won First Prize had been created in one of his workshops. His literary works have been published at the regional and national levels and have been recognized on several occasions.
