Double Projection at Unesco World Day for Audiovisual Heritage
Film and Cinema cannot be determined into one format. The UNESCO “World Day for Audiovisual Heritage” raises the people’s awareness of the meaning and variety of film and cinema. Thus we will show two films that operate between the poles of analogue and digital film.

Martha Davis nació en Londres, Ontario, en 1959. Se laureó con una licenciatura en Cine y Drama de la Universidad de Toronto y comenzó su carrera como fotógrafa. Ha realizado más de doce películas y ha formado parte de las juntas directivas del Centro de Distribución de Cineastas Canadienses y The Funnel.

As part of their inaugural festival, pic.london presents a two-day film programme exploring the relationship between still and moving images. Beginning with film’s infancy at the end of the 19th Century – through the 1960s avant-garde – this programme investigates the ways in which artists and theorists have engaged the moving image to develop, challenge and critique photographic language.

Con motivo del ciclo El ojo en la materia. Dziga Vertov y el cine soviético temprano, que organiza el Museo Reina Sofía en colaboración con la Filmoteca Española, el cineasta Peter Kubelka imparte un taller de creación fílmica orientado al debate y la experimentación. En el taller, Kubelka presentará y debatirá su trabajo con los asistentes.
Multiform examines the representation of the image through the media materiality and the creative process of the artist. The multiple media used to create the films and videos of this program demonstrate a variety of devices directly related to the material and conceptual reappropriation of the image by the artist. Through the use of found footage, self-portrait, homage, or travel diary, the works unveil their mechanism, their organicity, their process and their own representation.
