First painter, then sculptor, urban planner, architect, art theorist, musician, Nicolas Schöffer was one of the most important artists of the second half of the 20th century. This visionary, creator of cybernetic art, was one of the pioneers of kinetic art and the first to create interactive sculptures in the mid-1950s.

On the occasion of the great exhibition entitled Nicolas Schöffer: Retrospective devoted to him at LaM (Lille Métropole Museum of Modern Art, Contemporary Art and Art Brut) in Villeneuve-d'Ascq from February 23 to May 20 2018, this session will present rare films around his work and will be accompanied by an intervention by Mrs. Eléonore de Lavandeyra Schöffer.
