Nick Collins’ films consists of an indeterminate, poetic, and observational statement that, combined with a phenomenal sensitivity to light, movement and stillness - offers a space for reflection on landscape, cinema, sound and image.

Films -not necessarily low budget, but films that don't accept the film production's example of the film industry, the academic forms, and the relative institutes, that want a film an expensive production field of many specialists and professionals. In this program you can watch films that have been produced with the free use and overuse of a mix made by personal expression, material, human beings and ideas.
Futur Antérieur is a new cycle of meetings proposed at the Cinéma L'Archipel. Every two months, films from the so-called "experimental" cinema will be shown in connection with the editing work of Re: Voir, these sessions will each be tailored to the works and their authors. This cycle opens with a focus on filmmaker Robert Todd, who died last August.
These words come from Scottish artist and filmmaker Margaret Tait (1918–1999), who would have turned 100 on November 11th. With 11 short films on 11.11 and her only feature on 17.11, we are honoring her uniquely poetic work. The unique thing about Tait’s films is their interest in the unspectacular: “Her images are accessible (a thistle is inevitably a thistle), they are of the everyday and, on this level, a representation of things as they are.
Brussels based artist Els van Riel (b 1965) is a member of the analogue film-lab Labo Bxl and Cinema Parenthèse. Her films, videos and installations examine the impact of detailed changes in moment, movement, matter, light and perception. Her works relate to a tradition of minimal and structural filmmaking (Paul Sharits, Ernie Gehr), she processes the basic elements of film - time and light, silence and sound - and develops a form for expanded aesthetic saturation based on phenomenological observation within a sensitive and personal horizon that bypasses symbolism and narrativity.

Edge of Frame and Close-Up are proud to present a two-part programme of films by highly acclaimed experimental animator Jodie Mack. Part one gathers a selection of shorts, illuminating formal and cursory elements shared between fine-art abstraction and mass-produced graphic design; whilst part two presents the UK premiere of her highly anticipated debut feature The Grand Bizarre. We’re thrilled that Jodie will be present throughout and will be in conversation following both screenings.
Museum of Clouds is a weekend programme of screenings and discussions exploring the films, the contexts, the figures that connected a diverse group of artist-filmmakers working over the last ten years. The series includes works by Gabriel Abrantes, Basma Alsharif, Alexander Carver, Benjamin Crotty, Mati Diop, Beatrice Gibson, Shambhavi Kaul, Laida Lertxundi, Matías Piñeiro, Ben Rivers, Ben Russell, Daniel Schmidt, Ana Vaz and Phillip Warnell, as well as conversations with the artists and with the programmers, writers and producers who have championed their work.
