We are glad to announce that we are now accepting submissions for the next edition of Les Inattendus Film Festival, that will take place from February 9th to 17th 2018 in Lyon, FRANCE.

For this 11th edition, the ambition remains the same : to explore the richness and diversity of cinematic works in showing fiercely singular, challenging and aesthetically audacious films that radically contrast with conventional filmmaking standards.

We reaffirm our will to make this festival a special space for film exhibition, focusing on screenings, debates and informal festive moments. Because we want to maintain a tradition of >sharing and to make it accessible to as many people as possible, we made the choice to remain a non-competitive festival and to provide free screenings for all. With the wish as well to create and maintain collaborative partnerships with other collectives that share our convictions, and to nurture the curiosity and interest of ever growing audiences for the forms of cinema we defend.

We accept films from professional and amateur filmmakers, student and workshop films, individual or collective works. Films on any topic, in every genre (documentary, essay films, fiction, animation, experimental…), of any length, digital films (H.264 files, Blu-Ray or DVD), 16mm and 35mm films, with a particular emphasis on innovative cinematic experiments and practices.
